Cell division was rapid at the permissible temperature of 33.5℃, while at the limit temperature of 39.5℃, the cells were little or no division. These cells have the ability to differentiate into mature osteoclasts that express the osteoblast phenotype. These cells provide a homogeneous rapid proliferation model system for studying the differentiation of normal human osteoblasts, the physiology and hormones of osteoblasts, growth factors, and cytokines that affect the function and differentiation of osteoblasts.</ns2:CLO_0051626>
