The cell line is derived from WI-38 cells. WI-38 cells were infected with low titer SV40 virus. After continuous passage and clonal selection, several sublines were obtained, in which 2RA sublines contained SV40 neo (T) and transfer antigen, to change the characteristics of their finite cell lines, and can be continuously passaged under conventional conditions. Experimental manipulation of this cell line is very rare under biosafety level P2 conditions.
