This cell was originally derived from primary ductal carcinoma on October 13, 1995, and was established for 11.5 months. The tumor classification was TNM IIB stage, grade III. BRCA1 analysis showed that this cell line was homozygous for the BRCA1 5382C mutation, while lymphoblast-like cell lines derived from the same patient were heterozygous at this mutation site. Two other family members also had the mutation; an identical twin also had breast cancer. This cell has an acquired TP53 mutation and its wild-type allele is lost; an acquired PTEN gene is homozygously lost; and multiple sites associated with breast cancer pathogenesis occur heterozygous mutations.
