The tumor classification was TNM IIB stage, grade III. BRCA1 analysis showed that this cell line was homozygous for the BRCA1 5382C mutation, while lymphoblast-like cell lines derived from the same patient were heterozygous at this mutation site. Two other family members also had the mutation; an identical twin also had breast cancer. This cell has an acquired TP53 mutation and its wild-type allele is lost; an acquired PTEN gene is homozygously lost; and multiple sites associated with breast cancer pathogenesis occur heterozygous mutations. Both Her2-neu and p53 expression were negative.
