HeLa HeLa cell HeLa is the first aneuploid epithelioid cell line obtained from human tissue by continuous culture. It was established from cervical cancer tissue of 31-year-old black women by Gey GO et al in 1951. The original tissue sections were re-observed and diagnosed as adenocarcinoma by Jones et al. It is known that this cell line contains the HPV 18 sequence of human papillomavirus and needs to be operated in a level 2 biosafety station. This cytokeratin is keratin-positive, and the expression amount of p53 is low, but the expression level of pRB (retinoblastoma suppressor) is normal.
