Electron microscopic studies show that there are abundant microfilaments and cytoplasmic myxoid vacuoles. Test for rectal antigen 3 was positive. P53 antigen expression is negative, but mRNA expression is positive. The cell line and ATCC CL-187 originated from the same tumor. LS 174T cells are positive for keratin staining. The expression of oncogene c-myc, N-myc, H-ras, N-ras, Myb and fos is positive. The expression of oncogene k-ras and sis is not detected.
