The cell body fiber runs anteriorly through the plpr neuropil and bifurcates in the ventrolateral protocerebrum. The lateral branch makes a turn and runs ventroposterior towards the neck of the lobula. From there the neuron forms extensive tree-like branches in lobula layer 4. The medial branch makes a right-angle turn to run ventroposterior towards the posterior plpr. It forms terminals in the area that is close to the position of the cell body. There is only a single neuron in this class per hemisphere.
