Its cell bodies are located in the dorsal pars intercerebralis. Neurites project ventroposteriorly and then bifurcate. One branch projects ipsilaterally and terminates in the medial protocerebrum. The other branch projects ventromedially, turns dorsally at the midline and then joins the path of the same cluster on the contralateral side possibly arborizing in the contralateral hemisphere. The dendritic arbors are likely to be located in the lateral junction while the axonal arbors are in the ventral medial protocerebrum.
