It has axonal arborization in the T1 leg neuropil and intermediate tectulum and both dendritic and axonal arborization in the gnathal ganglion (Sterne et al., 2021). In the brain it is bilateral, but most of its innervation is in the ipsilateral hemisphere, and it descends on the contralateral side (Sterne et al., 2021). Obsoleted as mapped to DNg60 (Sturner et al., 2025 - FlyBase:FBrf0262850). Preprint only mapped mesa, but final version also maps snail. But note that Shiu et al. (2024) - FBrf0260565 and Sapkal et al. (2024) - FBrf0260559 map DNg60 to bluebell (FBbt:00051857). Bluebell does not appear to be a descending neuron in Sterne et al. (2021), but it is shown to be in Sapkal et al. (2024) and this mapping is in codex. There is no mapping to mesa in codex (2025-03-04).
