There are two subtypes, one arborizes in the alpha' anterior-posterior domain (MBON-16, MBON-alpha'3ap) and the other the middle domain (MBON-17, MBON-alpha'3m). The axons of the former extend to a region ventral to the lateral horn, whereas the axons of the latter stop at the lateral horn.
