06 mammalian products (ccpr) 033 milks (ml) (ccpr) Milks are the mammary secretions of various species of lactating herbivorous ruminant animals, usually domesticated. In conformity with the Codex Alimentarius Code of Principles concerning Milk and Milk Products the term "Milk" shall mean exclusively the normal mammary excretion obtained from one or more milkings without either addition thereto or extraction therefrom. Notwithstanding the provisions in the preceding paragraph, "the term "Milk" may be used for milk treated without altering its composition, or for milk, the fat content of which has been standardized under domestic legislation".
