abolished histone H3 binding abolished protein-histone H3 interaction A molecular function phenotype in which occurrence of histone H3 binding by a gene product (usually a protein) in a mutant does not occur. The affected gene product may be encoded by the mutated gene, or by a different gene. This term can be used for any protein-protein interaction that is affected by a mutation, whether or not the mutated gene product is one of the interacting proteins.
