A SWI/SNF-type complex that directly interacts with the vitamin D receptor (VDR) through the Williams syndrome transcription factor (WSTF), and mediates the recruitment of unliganded VDR to VDR target sites in promoters. The WINAC complex contains at least 13 subunits, including WSTF, several SWI/SNF components, and DNA replication-related factors. This term was made obsolete because the paper describing the characterization of this complex, which was used to create this term, has been retracted. mah
