abortion abdominal abortion Spontaneous or induced abortion which involves an embryo or fetus present in the abdominal cavity. Occasionally, abdominal abortion can happen following a brief tubal pregnancy, as the embryo becomes too large for the distal part of the tube and is therefore ejected into the abdominal cavity.
