<ns3:IAO_0000115 xml:lang="en">A scientific racist theory, named after educational psychologist Arthur Jensen, which was originally defined as "the theory that IQ is largely determined by the genes". However, because Jensen and proponents often used this theory to argue scientifically racist thought, it became associated with the theory that Black persons are genetically mentally inferior to white persons, based on the results of IQ tests.</ns3:IAO_0000115>
<rdfs:comment xml:lang="en">Contemporary scientific consensus has shown that genetic factors do not explain IQ differences between socially constructed racial groups. Despite this, a number of prominent evolutionary psychologists still preach Jensenism under other labels such as "race realism" or "human biodiversity". For instance, The Bell Curve, by Richard Herrnstein and Charles Murray claimed to support Jensenism. It is also notable that a number of far-right and alt-right scholars and organizations continue to fuel Jensenist beliefs in the 21st century. One such organization, the Pioneer Fund, deemed a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, attempted to fund distribution of a Nazi propaganda film about eugenics in U.S. schools and churches. Generally, Jensenism is highly associated with the 21st century "intellectual dark web" of scholars, many of whom have espoused sexist, racist, homophobic, and transphobic beliefs.</rdfs:comment>
