PGP is dephosphorylated to PG by an unknown phosphatase At the inner mitochondrial (IM) membrane, phosphatidylglycerophosphate (PGP) is dephosphorylated to phosphatidylglycerol (PG) by an as yet to be identified phosphatase. This phosphatase is principally localized in the mitochondria of chicken liver (Kiyasu et al. 1963). The identity of the human PGP phosphatase remains elusive and could be a NagD domain-containing protein (Lykidis 2007). Activity of rat liver mitochondrial PGP phosphatase has been demonstrated (MacDonald & McMurray 1980).
