NR5A2 transcription requires the activity of the PDX1 transcription factor. These events and interactions have not been studied in vivo in humans, but are inferred from corresponding ones worked out in the mouse and from in vitro studies of PDX1 protein binding to the Nr5A2 gene (Annicotte et al. 2003).
