It is degraded by MMP1 (Seltzer et al. 1989), MMP2 (Seltzer et al. 1989, Sawamura et al. 1991, Karelina et al. 2000) and MMP3 (Sawamura et al. 1991). MMP2 is 3000-fold more active than MMP1 (Seltzer et al. 1989).
