Choroidal nevi tend to remain stable in size, and to display features such as overlying drusen as well as retinal pigment epithelial atrophy, hyperplasia or fibrous metaplasia. A choroidal nevus can evolve towards choroidal melanoma. Choroidal nevi can be melanotic or amelanotic. Occasionally, they are associated with hyperpigmentation of extra ocular structures such as nevus of Ota or ocular melanosis.
