Multiple biliary hamartomas can be diagnosed using magnetic resonance imaging which shows multiple hyper-intense cystic nodules not communicating with the biliary tree. The diagnosis can be confirmed on liver histology. Multiple biliary hamartomas are usually an incidental finding without symptoms. There have been rare associations with development of cholangiocarcinoma.
