Note in OMRSE it is the housing unit, not the people living there, that are the bearers of a "residence function". Note the distinction between being a residence and a resident. A human or collection of humans that occupies a housing unit by storing their possessions there and habitually sleeping there thereby participating in the realization of that housing unit's residence function.
