external exposure facility Microtron Laboratory The MT-25 Microtron at the Nuclear Physics Institute in Prague (Řež) is a cyclic electron accelerator with a Kapitza-type resonator, accelerating electrons by a constant-frequency RF electric field in a constant uniform magnetic field. It is equipped with a device for generating highly homogeneous gamma and electron fields, providing dose rates from 0.01 Gy/min to 10 kGy/min and is used for biomedical, environmental and prompt gamma activation analysis (PAA) procedures. The facility is freely accessible with no specific requirements and complements the CANAM infrastructure at the same institute.
