Prot. 37 (2017) R19-R42 http://www.urcrm.ru The East Urals Radioactive Trace Cohort (EURTC) follows individuals residing in the area contaminated by the 1957 Kyshtym accident at the Mayak production association, in which a chemical explosion in a radioactive waste storage tank released radioactive material over a large area of the southern Urals. The cohort enables studies on cancer and non-cancer health effects following protracted exposure to mixed fission products including Sr-90, Cs-137 and rare earth elements.
