breed reported in geographic location Jutland Cattle (Cattle) Jysk Kvæg, Denmark (Cattle) https://www.fao.org/dad-is Jutland Cattle derive from indigenous breed cattle in Jutland. In 1881 the first herd-book was published. It distinguished between animals of dairy type and animals of beef type. During the first part of the 20th century the breed was selected for milk production and it was called Black and White Dairy Breed from Jutland. In 1950 this breed was joined with black and white cattle from Holland and Germany to form the SDM breed. A few breeders did however continue to breed the original Danish type. In the 1980s it was almost extinct, when a programme to save this old Danish breed was launched.
