Etimologically the term "Podolic", comes from the region of Podolia from Ukraine. This breed is a direct descendant of Bos primigenius primigenius Eurasia and the Middle East (Syria, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Anatolia). In the XIV and XV century the Podolian cattle population was very developed in the Carpathian Basin and Pannonian plain and by the end of the nineteenth century, this breed was widespread in all parts of Vojvodina.
