This VBO term should therefore be used specifically for the breed conforming to this concept. VBO:0007819 Kai Naresuan has the history of fighting cock game, which appeared in the Ayuddhaya period. It is very strong, clever, and elegant. They were raised as fighting cock. Afterwards, there were not specific breeding plan for this line. They were bred with other lines. They had been change for some characteristics such as, feather color and shank. They have various colors in Lueng Hang Kao chicken. Farmers in Phitsanuklok province investigated the characteristic of Naresoan chicken from Thai history book more than 700 year in National Library. They set breeding plan to establish Naresuan chicken again. Now there are Naresuan chicken conservation farmers in Phitsanulok province. Phitsanulok Livestock Development office promoted the first Kai Naresuan contest that was held on July 29, 1990 and in 1991 established a Kai Naresuan conservation at tambon Huaror, Muang district, Phitsanulok province. This conservation supported by funds from the Provincial Administration Organization of Thailand.
