breed reported in geographic location Broholmer (Dog) Broholmeren, Denmark (Dog) https://www.fao.org/dad-is VBO:0007985 The breed is a reconstruction of the Old Danish Dog from the mid 16th century, and was in mid 19th century registered under the name Broholmeren. Due to lack of interest, the last registrered dog died in 1956. However, in 1974 the breed was re-created from animals, that had the same appearance as the old breed.
