The name Sunicho is not used and the breed should not be described as 'Dwarf'. Physically it is a typical horse of Spanish descent in the Americas and this variety did exist before the agricultural reform in the 1950s. These horses were very important in the high Altiplano areas of Bolivia, they were ridden and were distinguished by their small size.
