The distal end of the jejunum is anastomosed to the proximal end of the duodenum (duodenojejunal anastomosis), which creates the bypass of the duodenum and most of the jejunum. The biliopancreatic limb is anastomosed to the alimentary limb distal to the duodenojejunal anastomosis in a Roux-en-Y fashion to divert biliopancreatic juice to the ileum.
